B20 South Africa Dialogue with China Successfully Held in Beijing

On October 9th, B20 South Africa Dialogue with China, jointly organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the B20 South Africa Organizing Committee, was successfully held in Beijing. Chairman of the CCPIT Ren Hongbin, B20 South Africa Co-Chair Mxolisi Mgojo (via video link), and charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Mahdi Basadien, attended and addressed the event. B20 South Africa Secretariat Anthony Costa, Chinese members of the B20 International Business Advocacy Caucus, and Chinese co-chairs of relevant task forces presented policy recommendations.Vice Chairperson of the CCPIT Li Qingshuang presided over the event. Over 1,500 representatives from China's business community participated both online and offline.

Ren Hongbin stated that the business community is a key participant, contributor, and beneficiary of international economic cooperation. Amid heightened global economic uncertainty, the B20 South Africa has facilitated in-depth discussions and consensus-building among its members, proposing a series of pragmatic recommendations that reflect the business community’s unwavering support for the multilateral trading regime and its shared aspiration to promote inclusive global economic growth. Following the recommendation of the CCPIT, representatives from over 40 prominent Chinese enterprises and institutions participated in policy discussions, putting forward initiatives such as strengthening international supply chain cooperation, and contributing the wisdom and strength of Chinese business community.

The B20 serves as a vital supporting event for the Group of Twenty (G20) and an important platform for the international business community to engage in global economic governance. Under the theme “Inclusive Growth and Prosperity through Global Cooperation”, the 2025 B20 South Africa brought together over 1,400 representatives from the global business community and key international organizations. They engaged in in-depth discussions on key and pressing issues in global economic development, jointly exploring new pathways and expanding new horizons for global economic growth.
