On March 12, local time, the London Roadshow of the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) was held. Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Wang Qi, Charge d'Affaires, China's Embassy in the UK, Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chair of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), and Jack Perry, Chairman of the 48 Group, attended and addressed the roadshow. Over 150 representatives from Chinese and international institutions, enterprises, and business associations participated in the event.
Yu Jianlong stated that as two major forces in the global economy, China and the UK must deepen cooperation in various fields, enhance resilience of the supply chain, reduce investment barriers, and jointly build an open world economy.
Other participants noted that the CISCE has become an important platform for promoting the stability, openness and sustainable development of global supply chains. Amid challenges facing global industrial and supply chains, it is the common goal of businesses in both countries to keep the two chains secure and prosperous. British enterprises pledged to deepen cooperation with Chinese counterparts on such fields as clean energy, artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainable development in an effort to drive progress in these fields. Multiple UK organizations expressed their initiative to bring delegations to the 3rd CISCE events. The goal is to enhance UK-China production and trade networks, integrate deeply into China’s industrial chains and the global market system, and elevate bilateral economic and trade cooperation to new heights.
