On November 28, the First China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) opened. Later that afternoon, the Think Tank Forum on International Trade Promotion & Releasing Conference of The Global Supply Chain Promotion Report was held in Beijing. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Long Guoqiang, Vice-President of the Development Research Center of the State Council, and Chen Xuedong, Academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended and addressed the event.

Ren Hongbin stated that as China’s largest trade and investment promotion agency, the CCPIT will fully leverage its strengths of connecting governments and enterprises, domestic and foreign markets, and supply and demand sides, focus on the needs of industries and enterprises, and strive to build high-level application-oriented think tanks in the foreign economic and trade field. At present, momentous changes of a like not seen in a century are accelerating across the world. The global industrial system and industrial and supply chains have witnessed a diversified layout, regionalized cooperation, green transformation and accelerated digitalization. The CCPIT has worked to grasp the underlying trend of industrial development at home and abroad with a global perspective and completed The Global Supply Chain Promotion Report based on an in-depth study. The holding of the first Think Tank Forum on International Trade Promotion centered on global supply chain promotion aims to share research findings with experts, scholars, and representatives of the business community and to map out together future cooperation and development.

Chen Jian’an, Vice Chairman of the CCPIT, released The Global Supply Chain Promotion Report. The report is the first to adopt a global perspective in conducting supply chain promotion research, the first to quantitatively analyze the development trend of the global supply chain in a comprehensive manner, and the first to put in place a global supply chain promotion analysis system. It systematically offers the recommendations of the industrial and commercial communities on boosting technological innovation, openness and cooperation, interconnectivity and inclusive development of the global supply chain, in an attempt to implement President Xi Jinping’s initiative on keeping global industrial and supply chains stable and unimpeded with concert actions.

The forum was hosted by the CCPIT and organized by the China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation and the Academy of CCPIT. It attracted more than 150 participants from government departments, think tanks, research institutes, Chinese and foreign enterprises, international organizations and mainstream media.
