On the afternoon of July 17, the Thematic Event on Green Agriculture was successfully held in Beijing during the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). Li Qingshuang, Vice Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Vice Chairperson of China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), Jin Shuqin, Deputy Director General of the Department of Development and Planning at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Carlos Aldeco, Representative of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in China, Paul Dyck, Senior Vice President of Walmart International, and Bernard Mendia, Secretary General of the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce & Industry attended and addressed the event.
Li Qingshuang noted that greenness is the foundation of high-quality development of agriculture. In recent years, China has vigorously transformed its agricultural development model, accelerated the establishment of a green agricultural industry chain, and advanced the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, resulting in abundant supply of green agricultural products, with the market value of green agriculture exceeding RMB 500 billion. Meanwhile, China has vigorously promoted agricultural foreign trade and investment cooperation, assisted other countries in their agricultural green transformation and development based on local conditions, and injected new momentum into global green agricultural development.
During the event, the speakers exchanged views on topics such as green agricultural technology innovation and ecological value transformation, low-carbon innovation and sustainable advancement of green agricultural supply chains, and new opportunities for international cooperation and collaborative development in green agriculture. They jointly analyzed the latest trends and challenges in the global green agricultural industrial and supply chains, and engaged in in-depth discussions on deepening international cooperation in agricultural industrial and supply chains and promoting the sustainable development of green agricultural supply chains.
Co-hosted by the CCOIC and FAO under the theme of "Accelerating the Green and Low-Carbon Transformation of Agriculture", the event saw the participation of over 400 people, including representatives from relevant government departments, international organizations, and counterpart business associations, as well as experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from China and abroad.
