Ren Hongbin Leads Chinese Business Delegation to Denmark

From September 9 to 12, 2025, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs on a visit to Copenhagen, Denmark. The trip coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union and the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Denmark. It provided an opportunity to strengthen exchanges among the business communities of China, the EU, and Denmark, and to deepen practical cooperation in areas such aas trade and investment.

During the visit, Ren Hongbin engaged in extensive discussions with representatives from Denmark’s political and business sectors. He met with Lina Hansen, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Tine Hertz, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, as well as senior executives from Maersk, Novo Nordisk, State of Green, and the Danish Shipping. Ren also toured Novo Nordisk’s facility in Copenhagen, where he highlighted China’s efforts to advance Chinese modernization through high-quality development, its firm commitment to high-level opening-up, and its ongoing work to foster a first-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized. He emphasized that the CCPIT will continue to work hand in hand with Danish partners to expand high-level, practical cooperation which prioritized environmental protection, jointly safeguard free trade and the stability of global industrial and supply chains, promote the steady and sustained growth of the China–Denmark Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and contribute further to mutually beneficial cooperation between China and EU.

In addition, the CCPIT and Danish Industry (DI) jointly hosted a high-level China–Denmark business roundtable and promoted the Fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). Representatives from government departments, institutions, and enterprises of both countries held dialogues and business matchmaking on key areas of cooperation, including trade and investment, green transition, transportation and logistics, biopharmaceuticals, and digital economy.
