On the afternoon of June 22, during the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo, "Roundtable for Chambers of Commerce and Industry Along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor" was successfully held in Beijing. Liu Jiannan, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Vice Chairman of China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), and John McLean OBE, Chair of China UK Business Development Centre, attended and addressed. Deng Lin, Chairperson of Chongqing CCPIT, made a note speech.
Liu Jiannan stated that the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor serves as a vital vehicle to built the Belt and Road together, and also the key support for China to foster an opening pattern featuring land-sea coordination and domestic-foreign linkage and East-West mutual benefit. He hoped that all member units of the Alliance can put efforts into leveraging unique regional advantages that the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor connects with the Belt and Road, continually empowering the build of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and enhancing its international influence to depict a new picture of regional opening up and development.
Representatives from alliance member entities including the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC), Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS), Department of Industry and Ecological and Digital Business Transition (Government of Navarra), Spain, CCPIT Machinery Sub-Council, Shanghai Universal Logistics Equipment Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Qianxin Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Group Co., Ltd. delivered speeches on two thematic topics: "Joint Infrastructure Development for Smoother Corridor Logistics" and "Platform Empowerment and Resource Sharing to Deepen Economic and Trade Cooperation". They shared cutting-edge insights on issues ranging from optimizing cross-border transport networks and improving multi-modal transport systems, to digital empowerment of economic and trade cooperation platforms, cross-border risk prevention and control and compliance services, as well as alignment with international rules and mutual recognition of standards.
The Alliance of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) was officially launched during the Second China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in November 2024. To date, the alliance comprises 45 member entities in total, including 27 overseas business associations spanning 23 countries and regions. It has evolved into a pivotal platform for advancing coordinated regional economic development, safeguarding stable and unimpeded global industrial and supply chains, and promoting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
The roundtable meeting was organized by the CCOIC and hosted by the CCPIT Chongqing. Over 100 participants, including representatives from alliance members, industry institutions and Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs, attended the event.
