The 2nd “Friendship Cup” Sino-Foreign Government-Enterprise Football Invitational Concludes

The 2nd “Friendship Cup” Sino-Foreign Government-Enterprise Football Invitational, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), recently concluded successfully in Beijing. After more than a month of intense competition featuring 51 matches, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) football team claimed the championship in the Beijing main division, with the Pfizer team taking second place, the China Pacific Insurance (Group) Company team finishing third, and the New Youth football team placing fourth. In the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao division, the GAC Group football team won first place.

The invitational received support and assistance from the Chinese Football Association, the Dongcheng District People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and other relevant organizations. The event aims to use football as a bridge to build a platform for exchange and interaction between foreign embassies in China, foreign chambers of commerce in China, foreign-invested enterprises, and relevant Chinese government departments and companies, promoting deeper friendship and expanded cooperation among all parties. Compared to the first edition, this time the invitational added the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao division, making it larger in scale and broader in impact.

On the occasion of the invitational’s closing ceremony, the CCPIT hosted the “Goals for Passion” - The 4th CISCE Networking Reception. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the CCPIT, attended and delivered remarks. Also in attendance were CCPIT Vice Chairmen Li Xingqian and Nie Wenhui, Argentine Ambassador to China Marcelo Suárez Salvia, and over 240 representatives from relevant Chinese government ministries and commissions, foreign embassies and chambers of commerce in China, chambers of commerce from Hong Kong S.A.R. and Macao S.A.R., and Chinese and foreign enterprises.
