On the afternoon of July 17, the Seminar on China-ASEAN Supply Chain Cooperation, part of the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), took place in Beijing. The event was attended and addressed by prominent figures including Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT); Peter Tan, Ambassador of Singapore to China; Ong Tze Guan, Chairman of the Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (SingCham); YB Senator Tan Sri Dato’ Low Kian Chuan, Chairman of the Malaysia-China Business Council (MCBC); and Chia Kim Huat, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI).
Yu Jianlong emphasized that China and ASEAN are good neighbors, good friends, and good partners with a shared future. He called on businesses from both sides to further explore opportunities in trade, investment, and industrial collaboration, foster new growth areas for scientific and technological innovation, and create space for collaboration under multilateral frameworks. The CCPIT, he noted, stands ready to step up cooperation with all parties to help deepen economic and trade ties between China and ASEAN.
Ambassador Peter Tan said that in recent years, economic and trade cooperation between Singapore and China has deepened with solid progress. He expressed hope that the two countries would leverage the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations to forge an even closer regional supply chain partnership.
The seminar was co-organized by the China Enterprises Association (Singapore), SingCham, CCPIT Representative Office in Singapore, SingCham Alumni Singapore, MCBC, and DEPA International Centre. It attracted over 200 participants, including government officials and business representatives from China and abroad.
