CCPIT Vice Chairman Zhang Shaogang Meets AmCham Shanghai President Ker Gibbs

On April 22nd, Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), met with AmCham Shanghai President Ker Gibbs in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on China-U.S. economic and trade relations and cooperation on pandemic response, as well as on strengthening cooperation between the two organizations.

Zhang Shaogang said that China, being in a new development stage, implementing a new development philosophy, creating a new development paradigm, and developing new systems for a higher-level open economy, will provide more market opportunities for foreign companies to develop in China. CCPIT would like to establish institutional ties with AmCham Shanghai to strengthen communication on policies, build platforms for cooperation between enterprises, and increase collaboration in multiple occasions to boost mutual benefits and win-win results among Chinese and American business communities.

Ker Gibbs said that American companies in China remain bullish on China’s economic development. AmCham Shanghai is ready to send positive messages on China-U.S. cooperation to American political and business communities for more various forms of substantial exchange and cooperation between the business communities in both countries.
