From September 8th to 9th, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs on a visit to Paris and Lyon, France. The visit, which took place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and the European Union (EU) and the 61st anniversary of China-France relations, aimed to strengthen exchanges between the Chinese and European as well as Chinese and French business communities, and to deepen practical cooperation in areas such as trade and investment.
During the visit, Ren Hongbin engaged in extensive discussions with representatives from various sectors in France. He held meetings with the two Co-Chairmen of Comité France-Chine: Jean Lemierre, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BNP Paribas, and Jean-Paul Agon, Chairman of the Board of Directors of L’Oréal Group. He also met with Philippe Varin, Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). Ren conducted research at Saint-Gobain Group and held talks with executives from French companies such as LVMH, Veolia, Airbus, Suez, and Servier. Highlighting that China is promoting Chinese modernization through high-level development and steadfastly boosting high-level opening up, He emphasized that the CCPIT will work hand in hand with the French business community and relevant international organizations to deepen practical bilateral and multilateral cooperation, jointly oppose trade protectionism, promote the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment, maintain the stability and smooth functioning of global industrial and supply chains, and contribute further to the sound and steady development of China-France and China-EU relations.
The CCPIT, in collaboration with relevant institutions, organized the 2025 China-France Trade, Investment and Innovation Cooperation Conference in Paris and the China-France (Lyon) B2B Dialogue and Cooperation Meeting in Lyon, while also promoting the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). Over 300 representatives from Chinese and French government agencies and enterprises conducted discussions and exchanges as well as business matchmaking negotiations, focusing on key areas such as energy conservation and environmental protection, intelligent equipment, financial services, digital economy, and supply chain cooperation.
