2022-05-07

On April 24, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) held the opening ceremony of the Trainings on Interpretation and Utilization of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement. The first training session was co-hosted by the CCPIT and the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (SINOSURE). Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the CCPIT, and Song Shuguang, Chairman of the SINOSURE, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. CCPIT Vice Chairman Zhang Shenfeng presided over the ceremony.

Ren Hongbin stressed that the entry into force of the RCEP will provide strong impetus to a new round of high-level opening-up and boost regional economic integration and global economic recovery. It is of great significance to vigorously publicize the RCEP and other free trade agreements (FTAs), and increase the utilization of FTAs. The CCPIT and its sub-councils should attach great importance to the promotion and implementation of the RCEP, focus on the issuance of Certificates of Origin under the FTAs, and help enterprises fully understand and skillfully use RCEP rules to continuously expand investment and cooperation in foreign trade. He suggested that enterprises take the initiative to learn about RCEP rules, highly value the management of places of origin, make effective use of preferential policies on regional trade and investment, optimize production layout and upgrade industrial structure.

Song Shuguang said the SINOSURE will work closely with the CCPIT to promote the implementation of RCEP and strengthen research on the potential impact and development trend of FTAs, so as to better fulfill its duties and serve high-level opening-up.

This year, the CCPIT has launched an action plan for the high-quality implementation of RCEP. To this end, it will hold 11 training sessions on the interpretation and utilization of the RCEP agreement. The first training session was joined by more than 3,000 enterprises from around 400 venues.
