On September 17, the China-ASEAN Business Leaders Forum, the plenary session of the 23rd China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS), was successfully held in Nanning, Guangxi. Vice President of Myanmar U Nyo Saw attended and addressed the Forum. Lin Honghong, Vice Chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Sun Dawei, Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Zhang Lizhong, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre, and Raymund Jude G. Aguilar, President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also attended and addressed the Forum.

In her remarks, Lin Honghong stated that the CCPIT is ready to work with the business communities of all countries to advance the building of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0, expand new space for digital and intelligent cooperation, promote cross-border integration of industrial and supply chains, and bring China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation to new heights.

During the event, Lin Honghong met with Sidonio Trindade da Costa Freitas, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste. They held in-depth discussions on issues including strengthening cooperation between the two organizations, jointly hosting summits, further promoting exchanges between the business communities of the two countries, and deepening industrial and supply chain cooperation.

As the plenary session of the CABIS, the China-ASEAN Business Leaders Forum was co-hosted by the CCPIT, the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and ASEAN national chambers of commerce and industry. It attracted approximately 350 participants, including government representatives, business community representatives, and experts and scholars from China and ASEAN countries. During the Forum, outcomes including Intelligent Land-Sea Connectivity: China-ASEAN AI Cooperation Case Collection (2026) were released, and a promotional event for the China International Supply Chain Expo was held.
