The 2023 High Level Symposium on Maritime Silk Road International Economics and Trade Arbitration was held in Xiamen, Fujian on May 18. Ke Liangdong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Ke Liangdong pointed out that as in-depth progress has been made in the building of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, we see rising demand among both Chinese and foreign customers for maritime and commercial arbitration services. The Maritime Silk Road Arbitration Center of China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC) was inaugurated and put into operation in Xiamen on March 30, 2023. Fully leveraging the professional strengths of the CMAC, the Center provides a robust legal service guarantee for further deepening high-end maritime legal services, effectively settling maritime and commercial disputes, and promoting the sustainable development of a regional export-oriented economy.

The Symposium was co-hosted by the CMAC, the CCPIT Fujian Sub-Council, the Administrative Committee of Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and the CCPIT Xiamen Committee, and organized by the CMAC Maritime Silk Road Arbitration Center. Twenty organizations at home and abroad, as well as nearly 50,000 people, attended the Symposium, online and offline.
