From March 9 to 12, local time, Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit the UK. The visit aimed to actively promote the development of China-UK economic and trade relations and foster mutually beneficial cooperation between businesses of the two countries.
During the visit, Yu attended the Terra Carta Roundtables organized by the Sustainable Markets Initiative and delivered a speech at its China session. He also met with Sir Sherard Louis Cowper-Coles, Chair of the China-Britain Business Council, Stuart Tait, Regional Head of Commercial Banking (Asia Pacific) at HSBC, and Alastair King, Lord Mayor of the City of London. In these meetings, Yu briefed the British side on China’s economic situation and the latest developments in its opening-up efforts, encouraged practical cooperation between the business communities of both countries, and welcomed active participation from the UK business sector in the upcoming 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) to deepen collaboration in industrial and supply chains.
On top of that, the CCPIT also hosted a roadshow for the 3rd CISCE, where Yu delivered a speech. The event saw multiple business discussions and matchmaking sessions between Chinese and British enterprises and institutions, resulting in several cooperative agreements.
