On April 21, Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), met via video link with Jerry Zhang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), President and Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited (Standard Chartered China), and Standard Chartered's Cluster CEO of China and Japan. The two sides exchanged views on deepening exchanges and cooperation.
Zhang Shaogang said the Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of foreign-funded enterprises in China. The CCPIT will play an active role in providing quality services to foreign enterprises, including Standard Chartered, in their investment and business operations in China. The CCPIT will hold a series of economic and trade activities to build a platform for practical cooperation for the business communities. The Standard Chartered is welcome to participate in and support these activities.
Jerry Zhang introduced the investment projects and the development of Standard Chartered in China and expressed the firm confidence of British enterprises in China's economic growth. She noted that Standard Chartered will do its best to integrate itself into and serve China's development strategy, and to contribute to China's economic development by strengthening ties and deepening cooperation with the CCPIT.
