China Arbitration Summit 2024 & China-MENA Arbitration Summit Successfully Held

On September 26, China Arbitration Summit 2024 & China-MENA Arbitration Summit were held in Beijing. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Li Mingzheng, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Justice, and Wang Shumei, permanent member of the Supreme People's Court (SPC)'s judicial committee (vice-minister level), attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), delivered a video message. Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), presided over the ceremony.

Jointly hosted by the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), the UNCITRAL, the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI), and the All China Lawyers Association (ACLA), the Summit released the International Arbitration Cooperation Initiative (2024) that jointly initiated by 30 arbitration institutions mainly in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). More than 500 legal and business professionals from 47 countries and regions attended the Summit, and more than 5.03 million people from 76 countries and regions followed or watched it online.
