The 2021 Roundtable on Trade and MICE Cooperation for B&R and SCO was held on April 23rd in Chengdu. Yu Jianlong, Secretary General of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. The roundtable was held both online and offline, with the attendance of more than 3,000 officials, experts and entrepreneurs from international trade and MICE sectors.     

Yu Jianlong stressed that to further facilitate trade and investment, we should give full play to the leading role of the MICE economy, promote the development of key industries, and optimize the business environment. He also emphasized that efforts should be made to promote two-way investment between countries along the “Belt and Road”, guide Chinese companies to invest overseas in a reasonable and orderly manner, and deepen the cooperation in international production capacity.     

Experts from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), embassies and consulates in China, promotion agencies for international finance and trade investment, international exhibition and project associations, international exhibition industry associations and other global development and research institutions on MICE  exchanged views on new opportunities brought by the “Dual Circulation” for international cooperation in trade and MICE.
