Annual Meeting of China-ASEAN Business Council & Joint Meeting of China-ASEAN Leaders of Chambers of Commerce and Industry were successfully held in Nanning, Guangxi, on September 17. Sun Dawei, Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Li Qingshuang, Vice Chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended and addressed the event.
Li Qingshuang emphasized that the business communities of China and ASEAN should continue deepening economic and trade dialogue under the framework of the China-ASEAN Business Council (CABC). She called for accelerating the improvement of the CABC’s organizational structure, advancing pragmatic cooperation in specific sectors, and innovate multi-platform coordination mechanisms. Li noted that the CABC should be developed into a public good for practical cooperation between the business communities of China and ASEAN, thereby injecting new momentum into regional economic and trade collaboration.
Co-hosted by the CCPIT, the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the chambers of commerce and industry of the ten ASEAN countries, the meeting brought together key leaders of ASEAN chambers of commerce and industry. Participants had in-depth exchange of views on strengthening China-ASEAN economic and trade collaboration and provided updates on major cooperative projects.
