2022-07-20

On June 30th, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), hosted the Symposium of CCPIT Western China in Chengdu, Sichuan province, in an effort to deeply study and implement the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s video speech at the Conference on the 70th Anniversary of CCPIT and Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit, to put into practice relevant instructions and requirements of Premier Li Keqiang, and to improve service quality to better support foreign-invested enterprises. Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of Sichuan province, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. Representatives of CCPIT sub-councils from 13 provinces, autonomous regions and sub-provincial cities in western China joined the event.

It is noted at the symposium that it is a major task entrusted to us by the state to set up task forces on foreign-invested enterprises and related services at the CCPIT and its local sub-councils. Over the past month and more, nationwide trade promotion agencies have taken swift actions and made solid efforts to set up task forces at all levels. As a result, the task forces have achieved some initial results and won the support and recognition of all parties. It was emphasized at the symposium that the CCPIT should further enhance its political stance, take the initiative to fulfill responsibilities, improve working mechanisms, improve coordination and interaction, actively collect, relay and meet the demands of foreign-invested enterprises, contribute to stabilizing the overall economy, and take solid actions to set the stage for the 20th CPC National Congress.

During his stay in Chengdu, Ren Hongbin held talks with Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, exchanging views on helping Sichuan accelerate the building of itself into a strategic model for the opening-up of China’s inland. He also presided over a forum for foreign-invested enterprises. Ren Hongbin then visited Dell, E-lite, Siemens, FAW-Volkswagen and other enterprises to research into ways of stabilizing foreign trade and foreign investment.

Yu Jianlong, Secretary General of the CCPIT, and officials in charge of relevant departments also attended the event.
