BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- A report released on Sunday expounds on China's innovative approach in ecological conservation and its global impact.
Titled "Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains for Beautiful China and World: China's Ecological Civilization Concept and Practice, and How They Inspire the World," the report was jointly released by Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with Xinhua News Agency, and the Research Center for Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization.
The report provides a detailed introduction of the historical background, core views, and great significance of the Chinese concept "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," and expounds on the concept's theoretical innovation, its practices in China, and its global value.
Speaking at a symposium on the report, Ren Weidong, deputy editor-in-chief of Xinhua News Agency, said the ever-evolving concept, continuously enriched and refined through practice, has not only guided China in achieving remarkable ecological and green development progress, but has also offered Chinese wisdom and solutions to advance global sustainable development.
As highlighted in the report, the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" has become the core philosophy and action framework for China's eco-civilization construction.
This concept reflects an in-depth understanding of the laws of nature and the general laws governing sustainable socio-economic development, the report notes.
By persisting in formulating development strategies from the vantage point of harmony between humanity and nature, China has blazed a new trail of civilization advancement characterized by production-based development, affluent living, and sound ecology, the report says.
The report notes that the core of the concept lies in the proper handling of the relationship between development and protection, and in supporting quality development with high-level protection.
The report underscores the concept's high convergence with the global green development goals, noting its remarkable synergy with national strategies and global core agendas.
It also highlights the concept's role as a deep inspiration for global ecological progress. The concept provides important ideological references for other developing countries at large that are seeking leapfrog development and the completion of their modernization process, it notes.
