On September 7, the World Chambers and Business Associations Meeting (WCBAM) 2023 hosted by the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and the People’s Government of Anhui Province was held in Hefei city, Anhui province. Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the CCOIC, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

Zhang Shaogang said that the CCPIT and the CCOIC have always taken serving Chinese and foreign enterprises as their priority, and strengthened their role of connecting government and enterprises, domestic and foreign market players, and supply and demand sides. International chambers of commerce and business associations play an important role in such areas as serving enterprises, optimizing business environment, and advising governments. He made three proposals at the meeting. First, coordinate multilateral efforts to deepen interactions and exchanges between chambers of commerce and business associations; second, strengthen collaboration to increase interactions between governments and businesses; third, adopt a multi-pronged approach to empower enterprises’ high-quality development.

With the theme of “Open Convergence and Joint Development”, the meeting was attended by more than 300 representatives of well-known chambers of commerce and business associations in China and other 28 countries.
