China-Chile Economic and Trade Forum Successfully Held in Santiago

On April 7, the China-Chile Economic and Trade Forum was successfully convened in Santiago. Chen Jian'an, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Ma Zhen, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Chile, Daza, Transport Undersecretary of Chile's Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, Di Giovanni, Director of InvestChile, and Camelia, Secretary-General of the Chile-China Chamber of Commerce, attended the forum and delivered speeches.

Chen Jian'an stated that over the half-century since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Chile have steadfastly supported each other’s core interests and major concerns, standing as trusted friends and mutually beneficial partners. He emphasized that the CCPIT is committed to deepening collaboration with Chilean business communities in trade, investment, and industrial and supply chain cooperation. He extended an invitation for Chilean enterprises and institutions to actively participate in the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), aiming to elevate bilateral economic and trade cooperation to new heights.

Chilean government and business representatives highlighted China as a reliable partner, underscoring the critical role of the CISCE in maintaining global industrial and supply chain stability amid rising geopolitical challenges. Chile pledged to encourage Chilean companies to join the 3rd CISCE, contributing to stronger industrial and supply chain partnerships through concrete actions.

This event was organized by the CCPIT, with over 100 representatives from government agencies, business associations, and enterprises from both countries in attendance. During the forum, the CCPIT’s Representative Office in Chile promoted the 3rd CISCE and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with relevant Chilean institutions.

During the visit to Chile, Chen Jian'an also led the delegation to meet with key figures in Chilean’s political and business circles, attended a symposium with Chinese-funded enterprises, and conducted research at China Railway Construction Corporation Limited(CRCC)Chile branch and other Chinese-funded enterprises.
