Ren Hongbin Leads Delegation of Chinese Entrepreneurs to the United States

From July 27 to 31, at the invitation of the US-China Business Council (USCBC), the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) organized a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit Salt Lake City, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., encouraging the business communities of China and the United States to actively implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state at their meeting in Beijing and to expand practical cooperation in the economic and trade fields. A total of 22 Chinese companies joined the delegation.

During the visit, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the CCPIT, met with U.S. Congressman Jonathan Jackson, Pat Quinn, former Illinois Governor, Lori Lightfoot, former Chicago Mayor, La Shawn K. Ford, Illinois State Representative, Jonathan Freedman, President and CEO of World Trade Center Utah, Philip B. Clement, President and CEO of World Business Chicago, Kristen Silverberg, President and COO of the Business Roundtable, and Jim Sutter, CEO of the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC). He also conducted research at Cargill, Nu Skin, dōTERRA, and Larsen Farms. In collaboration with relevant U.S. institutions, the CCPIT organized a number of China-U.S. business matchmaking events and held discussions and exchanges with more than 120 U.S. enterprises and institutions.

Ren Hongbin briefed representatives from various sectors in the U.S. on the Outline of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and its economic situation, introducing China’s new measures in pursuing high-quality development and high-standard opening-up. He promoted the 5th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), welcomed U.S. companies to share in the opportunities brought by “China Opportunity 2.0”, and emphasized that the CCPIT will support efforts to promote greater practical cooperation between the business communities of the two countries in bilateral and multilateral fields, to achieve higher levels of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

U.S. political and business figures spoke highly of the meeting between the two heads of state in Beijing, expressing their expectation to continue deepening their engagement in the Chinese market and strengthening trade and investment cooperation during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. They voiced their willingness to actively participate in the APEC CEO Summit and the 5th CISCE, and to jointly safeguard the stable and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains.
