Liu He and Katherine Tai hold virtual talks on Sino-US trade ties

Chinese Vice-premier Liu He, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chief of the Chinese side of the China-US comprehensive economic dialogue, held a conversation with United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai on Saturday morning via video link.

The two sides had candid, open and constructive communications to discuss three issues as following.

They agreed that Sino-US economic and trade relations are important for both the two countries and also for the whole world, and China and US should strengthen bilateral economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.

They exchanged opinions on the implementations of the Sino-US economic and trade agreement.

Each side expressed their core concerns and agreed to solve each other's reasonable concerns through negotiations.

The Chinese side lodged representations on the lifting of additional tariffs and sanctions, and stated its stance on issues such as economic development pattern and industry policy.

The two sides agreed to keep communication based on equality and mutual respect, to create good conditions for the healthy development of Sino-US economic and trade relations and the recovery of world economy.
