On April 21, the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) Indonesia Roadshow was successfully held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event was hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Representative Office in Indonesia and co-organized by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). Over 100 participants from Indonesia’s political and business circles, representatives from relevant industries, and Chinese and international media attended the event.
Chairman of KADIN Anindya Novyan Bakrie attended and addressed the roadshow. He noted that the CISCE serves as an excellent platform for strengthening relations between the business communities of Indonesia and China. The two countries elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2013, and their cooperation has continued to grow stronger, delivering tangible benefits to both sides. China possesses the world’s largest industrial system, while Indonesia, as the largest economy in Southeast Asia, boasts a vast market and abundant resources. Against the backdrop of an increasingly complex international landscape, growing geo-economic pressures, rising protectionism, and mounting global trade tensions, global supply chains need to become more resilient, making economic integration between Indonesia and China all the more important. KADIN will organize a strong delegation to Beijing for the fourth CISCE, and looks forward to substantive exchanges and cooperation between the business communities of both countries at the Expo.
Other speakers at the event included Bernardino M. Vega, Vice Chairperson for International Relations and CEO of the Global Engagement Office of KADIN, Cakhyo Purnomo, Investment Promotion Director for East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa of Indonesia’s Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry, Sun Shangbin, Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, Zhou Weiliang, Secretary-General of the Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association, and Catharina Widjaja, Head of International Relations of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO). The speakers broadly agreed that as the global industrial and supply chain landscape undergoes profound adjustments, enhancing supply chain resilience, promoting industrial chain collaboration, and achieving green and digital transformation have become shared imperatives for the global business community. As the world’s first national-level Expo themed on supply chains, the CISCE was founded by the CCPIT in 2023. With a focus on innovation and cooperation across key links in industrial chains, the Expo is committed to keeping global industrial and supply chains stable and unimpeded, and has become a significant platform for promoting international cooperation on industrial and supply chains. From cutting-edge manufacturing to green living, the CISCE facilitates industrial linkages and empowers global cooperation, playing an increasingly important role in regional and global economic development.
The CCPIT Representative Office in Indonesia delivered a presentation on the fourth CISCE, detailing the fruitful outcomes of previous editions and the preparations for the upcoming edition, and invited attendees from Indonesia’s political and business circles to participate in the Expo in Beijing.
