Gao Yan, Chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), visited Hubei Province from March 23 to 26. During the visit, she held talks with Ying Yong, Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, and talked with and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Wang Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Governor of Hubei Province. Later, they jointly inaugurated the Business Environment Monitoring Center of CCPIT (Hubei) and the Service Center of CCPIT (Hubei) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Zhao Haishan, Vice Governor of Hubei Province, also attended the event.

During her stay in Hubei, Gao Yan attended the economic and trade fair of “Appreciating Cherry Blossom in Spring” and delivered a speech. She exchanged views with the main leaders of Wuhan, Huangshi, Huanggang and Ezhou on deepening cooperation, attended the symposium of CCPIT sub-councils and branches in Hubei and the symposium of foreign trade and foreign investment enterprises to solicit opinions and suggestions on the formulation of the 14th Five-Year Plan for trade promotion, and on CCPIT’s efforts to serve the establishment of a new development paradigm, the optimization of the business environment, and the stabilization of foreign trade and foreign investment. In addition, she visited the Wuhan area of the China (Hubei) Pilot Free Trade Zone to inspect Honeywell, Lenovo and other projects, and visited Hubei Xinyegang Steel. Co., Ltd., Donper, KOFON, Huanggang Geographic Indication Product Exhibition Hall, and the construction site of Ezhou Huahu Airport Project.

Gao Yan said that Hubei achieved “double victories” in epidemic prevention and control, as well as economic and social development last year, which is not easy and admirable. The CCPIT will leverage its unique advantages in connecting government and enterprises, connecting domestic and foreign countries, and coordinating supply and demand, become an important provider of public service products in foreign trade and economic cooperation, help Hubei build a new height of China’s inland opening-up, and jointly take the lead in accelerating the construction of a new development pattern and make more contributions.

Officials from CCPIT Department of Development Research, Department of Trade and Investment Promotion, and CCPIT Hubei Sub-council also joined the visit.
