On November 4th, Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), met with Sherard Cowper, Chair of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) in London, Britain. The two sides exchanged views on topics such as China-Britain relationship and economic and trade cooperation, and enhancing cooperation between the CCPIT and CBBC.

Yu Jianlong said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of China-UK ambassadorial diplomatic relations and the bilateral relations have seen a sustainable sound development. China and Britain are mutually vital trading partners, as evidenced by salient economic complementarity, huge potential for cooperation, and booming bilateral trade with great resilience. The CCPIT stands ready to deepen cooperation with the CBBC, continuously give full play to its role as a bridge, maintain the friendship between the Chinese and British business communities, and provide high-quality services for two countries’ enterprises to advance practical cooperation.

Sherard Cowper noted that Britain and China are interdependent with profound people-to-people, economic and trade exchanges. Enhancing exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese and British business communities serves British interests and meets its people's expectations, which will lay a solid foundation for two countries to achieve mutual benefits. The CBBC is ready to work with the CCPIT to actively tell Britain China's stories and continuously promote stable development of China-Britain economic and trade relations.
