From February 4 to 6, at the invitation of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) organized a Chinese business delegation to visit Rabat, Casablanca, and other cities in Morocco. Capitalizing on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Africa and the 10th anniversary of the China-Morocco strategic partnership, the visit aimed to strengthen business exchanges between China and Africa, as well as between China and Morocco, and deepen practical cooperation in trade, investment, and other areas.

During the visit, CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin led the delegation in extensive exchanges with Moroccan government and business leaders. The delegation met with Ryad Mezzour, Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade, and Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate responsible for Investment, Convergence, and the Evaluation of Public Policies. They also held discussions with representatives from major business associations, including CGEM and the Morocco-China Business Council, as well as executives from Moroccan companies such as the Bank of Africa of Morocco. The delegation highlighted the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, introduced new measures for China’s pursuit of high-quality development and high-level opening-up, and promoted the fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). Ren Hongbin emphasized that the CCPIT stands ready to work hand in hand with its Moroccan counterparts to expand bilateral trade and investment cooperation, strengthen industrial and supply chain synergy, jointly uphold the multilateral trading system, inject new substance into the China-Morocco strategic partnership, and provide fresh impetus to the development of China-Africa and China-Arab relations.

The CCPIT and CGEM also jointly hosted the China-Morocco Business Forum in Casablanca. Representatives from Chinese and Moroccan government departments, institutions, and enterprises engaged in exchanges and negotiations on key areas of cooperation, including infrastructure development, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and biopharmaceuticals.
