On September 17, the China Arbitration Summit 2025 and China - Latin America International Arbitration Forum successfully convened in Beijing. Nie Wenhui, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Wu Zeng, Vice Minister of Justice of China, Wang Shumei, standing member of the Adjudication Committee of Supreme People’s Court (SPC) at the vice-ministerial level, and Michael Chu, President of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA), attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) delivered a speech via video. The opening ceremony was presided over by Wang Chengjie, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC).
Participants engaged in in-depth discussions under the theme “Navigating the Future of International Arbitration in the Digital Intelligence Era”, with a focus on topics such as digital-intelligence collaboration, digital-intelligence assistance, and digital-intelligence governance in international arbitration, reaching broad consensus. Co-hosted by CIETAC, UNCITRAL, IPBA and All China Lawyers Association (ACLA), the Forum also witnessed the release of the “Joint Action Plan for Promoting the Development of International Arbitration in the Digital Intelligent Era”. The event attracted over 500 onsite participants from 52 countries and regions, while online views exceeded 5.1 million from 103 countries and regions.
