On the afternoon of July 16, the 2025 Hubei Humanoid Robotics Industry Chain Matchmaking Conference was successfully held in Beijing as part of the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended the event and delivered a speech.
Yu Jianlong highlighted that Hubei, located at the intersection of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, enjoys a strategic geographic advantage, abundant science and education resources, a well-established innovation ecosystem, and a steadily rising industrial value. At this year’s CISCE, Hubei set up the Expo’s only dedicated humanoid robotics pavilion. A total of 22 companies from the province—including Wuhan Glory Road Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. and Hubei Jingchu Humanoid Robotics Co., Ltd.—presented over 80 exhibits, offering a comprehensive showcase of the province’s full humanoid robotics industry chain.
Hu Zhonghai, Chairman of the CCPIT Hubei Sub-Council, introduced that Hubei is advancing a development roadmap for its humanoid robotics industry under the goal of “starting strong in one year, delivering results in three years, and forming scale in five years.” He expressed hope for broader collaboration across sectors to jointly build Hubei into a hub for technological innovation, intelligent manufacturing, industrial ecosystems, and open cooperation in the field of humanoid robotics.
During the remarks session, Liu Sheng, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dean of the School of Integrated Circuits at Wuhan University, shared the achievements of Hubei’s universities in humanoid robotics research and talent development. Jiang Lei, Chief Scientist of the National and Local Co-Built Humanoid Robotics Innovation Center, stated that the center is focusing on key technologies such as high-dynamic motion control and the integration of large AI models, with the aim of accelerating the industrial application of these innovations. Ba Yi, Deputy Director of the Wuhan Investment Promotion Bureau, noted that Wuhan is now home to over 50 humanoid robotics companies. The city aims to grow the industry to over RMB 10 billion in output by 2027, positioning itself as a national pilot zone for future industries. Zhao Xingwei, Legal Representative of Jingchu Humanoid Robotics Co., Ltd., shared that the company’s products are already being applied in sectors such as automotive manufacturing and emergency firefighting, with plans to expand into more high-value application scenarios in the future.
During the product launch session, Photon (Guangzi), a new full-body humanoid robot developed by Hubei Optics Valley Dongzhi Embodied Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., was officially unveiled. It is designed for scenarios such as exhibition hall presentations and mall navigation. Hubei Kofon Intelligent Transmission Co., Ltd. released an actuated joint module for humanoid robots, helping to fill key gaps in the core components segment of the industry.
During the conference, the Hubei Humanoid Robot Industry Alliance signed strategic cooperation agreements with organizations including the Zhejiang Robot Industry Association. The partnerships aim to deepen collaboration in areas such as technology R&D and market expansion, jointly enhancing the industry’s overall competitiveness.
The matchmaking conference, hosted by the CCPIT Hubei Sub-Council, was held under the theme “Synergizing Cutting-edge Innovations, Empowering New Quality Productive Future.” The event attracted over 400 participants, including ambassadors to China, academicians and experts, leaders of industry-leading enterprises, and senior executives from financial institutions.
