CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin Attends and Addresses the 2022 BRICS Women's Leadership Forum and the Award Ceremony of BRICS Women Innovation Contest

2022-06-21

On May 31, the 2022 BRICS Women's Leadership Forum and the Award Ceremony of BRICS Women Innovation Contest was held in Beijing. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, and Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the CCPIT, presided over the opening ceremony.

Ren Hongbin said in his speech that the winners of the Mulan Award and the Special Contribution Award (recognition for efforts in pandemic response) are excellent examples of BRICS women in such fields as innovation, entrepreneurship, and public health. Faced with new opportunities in the new era, women entrepreneurs should focus on their job responsibilities to deeply cultivate excellence in their main business, broaden their thinking with resourcefulness and decisiveness, and play the role of organizers and leaders in innovative development with hard work and tenacity. The CCPIT will take the opportunity of its 70th anniversary of founding to further develop the BRICS Women's Business Alliance and other multilateral cooperation platforms, so as to help more women share the dividends of BRICS cooperation, promote the economic growth of BRICS countries and friendly people-to-people exchanges, and create a better future for all.

The event was hosted by the Chinese Chapter of BRICS Women's Business Alliance under the guidance of the CCPIT and the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and with the support of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF). Under the theme of "Let Your Inner Strength Shine Through", the BRICS Women's Development Report was released and an award ceremony was held at the forum. A total of 449 women participated in this year's contest, with 15 winners selected for the Mulan Award and another five for the Special Contribution Award (recognition for efforts in pandemic response). Diplomatic envoys of BRICS countries to China, government and business representatives, winners and others joined the event online or offline.
