CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi Attends Fifth East Lake International Legal Forum

On November 22nd, the Fifth East Lake International Legal Forum was held in Wuhan. The forum was co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Wuhan University, and Chinese Society of International Law (CSIL). The theme of the forum is “International Law and International Order in Sino-US Economic and Trade Disputes.” CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi delivered an online message.

Lu Pengqi said, it is of great significance to analyze international economic and trade relations from the perspective of international law and to predict its future trends. In recent years, CCPIT has given full play to its own advantages to provide support for foreign trade and investment, and practical results have been achieved. CCPIT will continue to deal with economic and trade frictions, prevent and settle the international commercial disputes, and promote the rule of law concerning foreign affairs.

Pascal Lamy, Former WTO Director-General, Francis Gurry, Former WIPO Director-General, and Randall R. Rader, Former Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC), attended the forum online. Hundreds of people from central government departments, university think tanks, industrial and commercial circles attended the conference, and more than 40,000 people watched the live broadcast in Chinese or English.
