On November 19th, APEC China CEO Forum 2020 was held in Beijing. Focusing on the theme of “Digital Productivity”, the forum discussed the potential capabilities of digital technology to accelerate and iterate productivity in the new era. Gao Yan, Chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), attended and addressed the forum.

Gao Yan said, as a new economic form, digital economy has gradually integrated with the real economy, and has become an important engine to boost China’s sustained and stable economic growth. This forum, with the theme of “digital productivity”, follows the development laws of the times, aims to create new opportunities from the crisis, and promotes the development of digital economy. As one of the largest economies in the Asia-Pacific region, China is willing to work with other Asia-Pacific economies to jointly tap the potential of digital economy, create more high-quality cooperation projects, and share the dividend of the digital economy industry.

Gao Yan said, the business community is an important force in multilateral economic and trade cooperation. China’s business community should boost global confidence through practical actions and make greater contributions to pushing the global economy back on track. To this end, she put forward three proposals for China’s business community: first is to follow the trend of the times and deepen practical cooperation in various fields; second is to let innovation play a core role to contribute to China’s high-quality development; and third is to improve global governance and give full play to the important role of the business community.
