On November 18th, Gao Yan, Chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), met online with Miguel Angel Acevedo, President of the Unión Industrial Argentina (UIA), in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on promoting China-Argentina economic and trade exchanges and deepening cooperation between the two organizations.
Gao Yan said that Argentina is an important trading partner of China in Latin America, and the two sides have maintained sound cooperation in investment, project contracting, finance, and other fields. Under the new situation, China proposes to foster a new development paradigm with domestic circulation as the mainstay and domestic and international circulations reinforcing each other. This will provide a broader market and more development opportunities for countries around the world, Argentina included. The CCPIT stands ready to work together with Argentine partners, including the UIA, to push China-Argentina economic and trade relations to a new level under the guidance of the two heads of state.
Miguel Angel Acevedo said that the economic and trade relations between China and Argentina are getting increasingly closer and the areas of cooperation are expanding. Argentina admires China's remarkable development achievements, appreciates the effective measures taken by the Chinese government to combat the epidemic, and speaks highly of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035. UIA would like to take this meeting as an opportunity to maintain close communication with the CCPIT, build a platform for practical cooperation between Chinese and Argentine enterprises, further strengthen dialogue and communication under multilateral mechanisms such as B20, and jointly promote the continuous development of China-Argentina economic and trade cooperation.
