On September 7th, the Belt and Road Forum on Services Trade Cooperation, one thematic forum during the CIFTIS, was held in Beijing. Zhang Shenfeng, Vice Chairman of the CCPIT, Long Yongtu, Consultant of the China Association of Trade in Services (CATIS), and Zhou Chenghu, Chairman of the CATIS, attended the forum and delivered speeches.
Zhang Shenfeng stated that trade in services plays a significant role in shifting the national and regional economic development pattern, transforming and upgrading the industry, and realizing sustainable development. For the high-quality development of trade in services in China during the pandemic, countries alongside the Belt and Road and other countries and regions, we should act in the spirit of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, advancing the establishment of mechanisms and platforms for the trade in services; forge ahead in an innovative and pioneering way, actively fostering new business forms and new models for the trade in services; carry on optimizing the international business environment to further liberalize and facilitate trade in services.
With the theme of the “Development, Transformation and Upgrade of Trade in Services Under the COVID-19 Epidemic”, this forum is hosted by the CCPIT and organized by the CATIS. More than 350 representatives that are based in China and from countries along the Belt and Road, as well as those from business associations and enterprises attended the forum.
