On September 1st, CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan met in Beijing with a delegation led by Zhou Hongbo, Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The two sides exchanged views on such issues as supporting Guangxi’s export-oriented economic development, building a new western land-sea corridor, and promoting China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation.
According to Gao Yan, Guangxi, as a major international passageway to ASEAN, has unique geographical advantages, and the development of the China Railway Express to Europe and the new western land-sea corridor has also injected new impetus into Guangxi’s open development. This year, despite the challenges of poverty alleviation and epidemic prevention and control, Guangxi manages to capitalize on the trends of China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation and development and stays committed to seeking high-quality opening up. CCPIT will continue to deepen its cooperation with Guangxi and work with it to upgrade the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit and improve the quality of public services offering to enterprises, and provide supports for Guangxi to adapt to the opening-up dynamics of the country and build a new development pattern.
According to Zhou Hongbo, Guangxi has always centered its efforts around the goal of “ensuring stability on six fronts and security in six areas” and has been vigorously building a major international passageway to ASEAN; next, Guangxi will engage itself in the “domestic and international circulation” initiative, facilitate the development of the new western land-sea corridor, and properly prepare for the China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, contributing more to deepening China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation and achieving opening up at a higher level.
The meeting was joined by Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, as well as heads of the General Office, Department of Development Research, Department of International Relations, Department of Trade and Investment Promotion and Department of Legal Affairs under CCPIT and Bilateral Cooperation Department under China Chamber of International Commerce, etc.
