The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Congress was held in Kyiv on May 19. Through video call, CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan congratulated this event.

Gao Yan said that Ukraine is China’s strategic partner. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, practical cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results. Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) is an important counterpart cooperation organization of CCPIT. In recent years, institutional exchanges between the two sides have been deepened and strengthened, which has enhanced mutual understanding and beneficial cooperation between Chinese and Ukrainian enterprises. At present, economic globalization and the multilateral trade system is suffering from challenges brought by the COVID-19. CCPIT and UCCI are willing to turn challenges into opportunities, and to pursue the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, so as to deepen China-Ukraine economic and trade relations and realize the common prosperity of the world.

The Office of the President of Ukraine, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Heads of the Polish, German, Czech, Georgian, Austrian, Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Heads of European Chamber of Commerce also sent congratulatory messages to the event via video.

Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Congress is held every five years to assess the work of the past five years and to elect its president. At this session, Gennady Chizhikov was re-elected as President of UCCI.
