The Youth Day, 04 May 2020, is approaching as the nation struggles to combat the COVID-19 outbreak and promote economic and social development. On behalf of the CCPIT Party Group, I would like to extend our best wishes and holiday greetings to all the CYL organizations and youth.

General Secretary Xi Jinping, in his responding letter to the young "post-90s" Party members of the medical team sent by Peking University to assist the anti-epidemic battle in Hubei province, pointed out that "the vast number of young people have proved with their actions that Chinese youth are capable of shouldering great responsibilities and getting the job done”. "A country will be full of hope and have a brilliant future when its younger generations have ideals, ability, and a strong sense of responsibility." General Secretary Xi Jinping’s high expectations for the Chinese youth greatly inspires the young people to have lofty aspirations and love the nation.

Over the past year, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak, the CCPIT young cadres and workers have studied and carried out the spirit of the series of important speeches of General Secretary Xi Jinping. In accordance with the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee, inheriting and carrying forward the spirit of the May Fourth, keeping faith and focusing on the central tasks, forging ahead, and tiding over difficulties, the CCPIT youth have been playing their parts in various tasks including the prevention and control of the epidemic, organizing major economic and trade events, the promotion of the "Belt and Road", the response to Sino-US economic and trade frictions, the development of the global economic system and poverty alleviation, all of which have shown the spirits of the young CCPIT people and their ability and willingness to take on responsibilities.

This year China will finish building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and complete its 13th Fiver-Year Plan. This year will also be decisive in China’s fight against poverty. Faced with complex and grim global pandemic and the world economic outlook, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as its core, CCPIT will strengthen its style of work and adopt practical implementations, give equal importance to both matters and strive for double victories.

Different generations have different Long March journeys, people of every generation have a mission. Follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, CCPIT youth should develop still greater consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-pictures terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment, and foster stronger confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and defending the status of General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core of the CPC Central Committee and the whole Party and the authority and centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee, bearing in mind both domestic and international big-pictures. Understand without learning, one cannot realize one’s full potential; without a genuine aspiration, one will not achieve genuine learning and develop one’s thought properly, continue to improve the ability to learn and take proactive actions to master skills. Grasp the dialectical relation that “vision spurs action and is achieved through action”, learn and mature in social practices. The buttons of life should be fastened well from the very beginning, correctly grasp the development direction of youth in the new era, adhere to the initial mission and give full play to your youth. While serving the people, temper yourselves through arduous work, increase your abilities in practice. Contribute your youth and power to the process of trade promotions in the new era and achieving a moderately prosperous society in all respects and realizing the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation!
