Following our trademark team’s attendance of the first Cloud-Hearing held remotely on internet in Beijing IP Court on February 17, 2020, our trademark team once more attended the first remote video hearing of a retrial case held by the Supreme People’s Court on April 8, 2020.
The retrial case is a non-use cancellation dispute, which involves considerable evidence. The Supreme People’s Court applied a remote video hearing system called Zhi Yun for the first time, and conducted activities such as court investigation and court debate according to laws. Our attorneys Hu Gang and Wei Xiaoping, representing the applicant of the retrial, actively cooperated with the Court in testing the hearing system and smoothly completed the whole hearing process, including presenting opinions, evidence-exchanging and signing court record.
By way of remote video hearing online, the Supreme People’s Court fully secured the rights of both litigation parties during the epidemic period of coronavirus. It is said that the Zhi Yun hearing system will be promoted and applied in the courts of China. With increasing in-depth integration of informatization with trial, the courts of China will surely bring more convenience to the litigation parties
