CCPIT Works Together with Exhibition Organizers and Exhibition Enterprises to Reduce the Impact of the Pandemic on Exhibitions Abroad

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Chinese exhibition organizers enterprises and exhibitors have been affected, facing a series of problems, such as the cancellation or postponement of overseas exhibition projects and the inability to return the fees paid for overseas exhibition venues. As the administration to approve and manage the holding of China’s economic and trade exhibition abroad, CCPIT performs its duties by putting forward plans and taking multiple measures. Together with the national exhibition organizers and exhibitors, CCPIT tries to reduce the adverse impact of the pandemic on overseas exhibition, making due contributions to stabilizing foreign trade and investment.

CCPIT comprehensively carries out researches and communication, and timely releases information.

After the outbreak, through telephone, Wechat and other means, CCPIT conducted comprehensive researches on over 110 exhibition organizers and exhibitors that planned to go abroad to analyze their specific losses and help to reflect their demands.

CCPIT keeps close communication with relevant ministries and commissions as well as our embassies and consulates abroad to research and size up the situation and to come up with countermeasures.

CCPIT collects and updates the important information such as entry restrictions on China and suspension of visa application by foreign embassies and consulates in China, and gives early warning to exhibition organizers and exhibitors in time.

CCPIT guides the prevention and control efforts of exhibition organizers and exhibitors.

According to the domestic and international development of the pandemic, the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion of CCPIT issued various notices, such as Notice of Department of Trade and Investment Promotion of CCPIT on Prevention and Control of Pandemic for Holding Economic and Trade Exhibitions Abroad, Notice of Department of Trade and Investment Promotion of CCPIT on Further Prevention and Control of Pandemic for Holding Economic and Trade Exhibitions Abroad, Notice of Department of Trade and Investment Promotion of CCPIT on Strengthening Management for Holding Economic and Trade Exhibitions Abroad,

These notices remind enterprises of precautions in organizing exhibitions abroad during the pandemic, put forward clear requirements and measures and help them solve the practical difficulties during the exhibition.

CCPIT provides consulting and training services for exhibition organizers and exhibitors.

CCPIT promptly answers all kinds of inquiries from domestic organizations that organize enterprises to participate in exhibitions, and exhibitors that planned to go abroad, which effectively publicizes policies, and enhances the confidence of enterprises. It also provides online legal consultation for Chinese exhibition organizers and exhibitors. CCPIT carries out online training, holds online video lectures and explains legal issues such as failures to perform the contract and liability for losses.

CCPIT gives full scope to its advantages of contacting domestic and foreign business circles, creating a good environment for Chinese exhibition organizers and exhibitors.

CCPIT sent letters to major overseas exhibition institutions to publicize China’s effective measures and efficient achievements in response to the pandemic.

On behalf of Chinese exhibition organizers and exhibitors, CCPIT expressed, “We cherish the friendship with foreign host institutions and are willing to actively participate in exhibitions. We will help Chinese enterprises and exhibition organizers minimize losses, maintain friendly cooperative relations between domestic enterprises and exhibition organizers and ensure their comprehensive, healthy and sustainable development.

CCPIT provides force majeure certificates for foreign trade enterprises, guides them to communicate with overseas exhibition organizers and strives to minimize losses.

CCPIT collated and released the exhibition-related force majeure certificate template, the Compilation of Common Problems of Force Majeure Certificate in the Exhibition Field, and the Excerpt of Support Measures for Enterprises Whose Participation is Blocked Overseas, to provide special and accurate services for exhibition enterprises.

CCPIT carefully deployed and directed the exhibition group who attended the Ambiente fair to ensure mass infection would not occur amongst the group.

Till the close of Ambiente, there was no abnormality of participants when they were in Germany. After the group returned to China,

CCPIT followed up with the work of the exhibition, and closely followed the status of the participants to monitor their health and implemented the "Zero Reporting" system.

Affiliated to CCPIT, China International Exhibition Center Group Corp. (CIEC) is the president unit of China Association for Exhibition Centers (CAEC). CIEC took actions and released the Investigation Report on the Impact of COVID-19 on the Member of CAEC in 2020, which provided reference for relevant departments to formulate policies under the pandemic impact, and played a positive role in promoting the operation of the exhibition industry.

In the next step, CCPIT will also perform its duties, further strengthen the management and service of overseas exhibitions, and work closely with exhibition organizers. CCPIT will accelerate the development of overseas exhibitions while fighting the pandemic outbreak, guaranteeing the stability of foreign trade and investment.
