The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President and Head of International Affairs Myron A. Brilliant recently sent a letter to CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan. “On behalf of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the business community we represent, I’d like to express our heartfelt concerns to the people of China, and hope that the situation improves soon,” he said.

Myron A. Brilliant said, the Chamber and the American business community are providing aids in numerous ways. Many Chamber members have been mobilizing expertise and resources to help contain the epidemic.

“While there are hopeful signs that the spread in China is slowing, we know that the battle is far from over. We will continue to encourage members to help in any way they can, including through outreach to your government, businesses in China, and charitable organizations, in a comprehensive effort to help China during this health crisis,” he added.

“The U.S. Chamber and CCPIT have a longstanding close partnership. We look forward to resuming our joint efforts to continue the important work of promoting mutually beneficial, positive and constructive U.S.-China relations,” he added.

Headquartered in Washington, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is one of the world’s largest business alliances and the largest lobbying organization in Washington. Its members include 850 business and industry organizations, as well as 87 sub-chambers registered in major cities around the world. It has an important influence on the U.S. policies toward China.
