US-Asia Institute (USAI) Chairman Glenn Lau-Kee and President Mary Sue Bissell jointly sent a letter to CCPIT Chairperson Gao Yan on February 18, expressing, on behalf of USAI, condolences and support for Gao Yan and her CCPIT colleagues, as well as deepest sympathy and heartfelt wishes to infected patients and their relatives and friends.
“China has withstood numerous challenges over the years. We have no doubt that the Chinese government and people will once again overcome the epidemic with fortitude and resilience,” said Glenn Lau-Kee and Mary Sue Bissell in the letter.
Founded in 1979, USAI is a non-profit, nonaligned neutral organization devoted to improving understanding and strengthening ties between the people and governments of the US and Asia. USAI has directly cooperated with 14 countries and regions, including China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, and has established a bond of mutual trust and respect with them.
