The China-LAC trade promotion agency and chamber of commerce roundtable meeting under the framework of the 13th China-LAC Business Summit was held in Panama City on December 10. Representatives from China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and its 16 provincial and municipal sub-councils, as well as 25 trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce from 13 Latin American and Caribbean countries attended the meeting.
CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi, Jorge Juan de la Guardia, President of Panama’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Inter-American Development Bank Integration and Trade Sector Manager Fabrizio Opertti attended and addressed the meeting.
During the meeting, the representatives held extensive and in-depth discussions on promoting the diversified cooperation between China-LAC economy and trade in the new era and improving the cooperation network between Chinese and Latin American trade promotion agencies and chambers of commerce, and jointly issued the Panama Declaration of China-LAC Trade Promotion Organizations and Commercial Associations.
The representatives agreed to further build consensus and promote the high-quality development of China-LAC cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative; to jointly oppose unilateralism and trade protectionism, promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and strive for an international environment conducive to China-LAC economic and trade cooperation; to build more effective cooperation mechanisms, create more new highlights in China-LAC economic and trade cooperation, and contribute to the building of a closer China-LAC community with a shared future.
