CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi met with Giovanni Ferrari, General Manager of Panama’s Colon Free Trade Zone in Panama City on December 9.

Lu Pengqi said, “Colon Free Trade Zone is one of the leading free trade zones globally. It can serve as an important window for Chinese companies to go global and a role model for the building of China’s free trade zones. CCPIT is willing to further strengthen cooperation with Colon Free Trade Zone, support the enterprises of the two sides to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative and motivate the economic and trade relations between the two countries.”

Giovanni Ferrari said, “China has great potential and has been driving the development of the world economy. The rapid growth of Chinese enterprises has laid a solid foundation for further strengthening cooperation between China and Panama. We are willing to further support Chinese companies and I hope that more Chinese companies can enter the global market through Colon Free Trade Zone.”

Officials from CCPIT Department of Development Research, International Relations, China Chamber of International Commerce and CCPIT Representative Office in Panama were in attendance.
