The Round Table Conference of Silk Road International Chambers of Commerce (Dunhuang) 2019 was held on August 31. Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chen Jian’an attended and addressed the opening ceremony and unveiled the China-Nepal Business Council Liaison Office (Gansu Province).

Chen Jian’an said, the acceleration of the Belt and Road Construction has provided a more inclusive, efficient and forward-looking platform for cooperation and good opportunities for the socio-economic development in the world. He made three proposals on fostering exchanges among trade and investment promotion agencies and chambers of commerce, jointly building an open economy and participating in global economic governance.

“First, we shall adhere to the mutual benefit concept in boosting trade and investment; second, we shall persist on the well-coordinated and inter-connected approach in exploring new modes of cooperation; and last but not least, we shall insist on openness and inclusiveness in promoting mutual learning in culture,” added Chen.

Themed at “Setting up Cooperation Mechanisms, Promoting Exchanges, Boosting Unimpeded Trade”, representatives from more than 20 countries and regions, including Uruguay, Nepal and Italy, were in attendance.
