“Zimbabwe Day” of Expo 2019 Beijing kicked off

The “Zimbabwe Day” of Expo 2019 Beijing kicked off on August 28. Hong Xiguo, Vice-Commissioner of the China Pavilion, who is also Deputy Director-General of Business Department of China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), Martin Chedondo, Zimbabwe Ambassador to China and other senior officials from Zimbabwe attended and addressed the ceremony.

Hong Xiguo noted, Zimbabwe is a good friend and partner of China. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 39 years ago, the traditional friendship between the two countries has seen an increase with closer exchanges and deepened cooperation in various fields, which has brought tangible benefits to the people.

“I believe Zimbabwe’s exhibition and series of activities during Expo 2019 Beijing will further deepen bilateral cooperation in agriculture, people-to-people exchanges, economy and trade, and the friendship between the two countries will continue to rejuvenate with the joint efforts,” added Hong.

Other activities such as art performance and gift exchanges were also held at the opening ceremony.
