The “Togo National Day” of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing (Expo 2019 Beijing) was held on August 22. Liu Xiaodong, Deputy Director of the China Pavilion of the Expo 2019 Beijing and Inspector of the Department of Trade and Investment Promotion of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Bamana Magrimina, Vice Minister of Commerce, Industry, Private Sector Development and Promotion of Local Consumption, Johnson Mavina, Commissioner General of Togo of the Expo 2019 Beijing, and Abina Nesita, Charge d’Affaires of Embassy of Togo in China, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

Liu Xiaodong said, Togo’s wonderful exhibition at the Expo 2019 Beijing will surely promote cooperation between China and Togo in trade and culture, strengthen the synergy between Togo’s national development plans and the Belt and Road Initiative and the “eight major initiatives” concerning China-Africa cooperation, and make more countries, including China, get to know Togo's trade and investment opportunities, commonly seeking new development opportunities and making greater contribution to a closer China-Africa community with a shared future.

The opening ceremony was also comprised of cultural performances promoting Togo’s horticulture and food.
