The 2nd China-Northeast Asia Commercial Law Cooperation Symposium held in Changchun

The 2nd China-Northeast Asia Commercial Law Cooperation Symposium (Symposium), co-hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Government of Jilin Province and Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and co-organized by CCPIT Department of Legal Affairs and CCPIT Jilin Province Committee, was held in Changchun, Jilin on August 22 to promote cross-border investment cooperation and create a high-quality commercial law service environment in Northeast Asia.

As one of the sideline events of the 12th China-Northeast Asia Expo, the symposium was themed at “cross-border investment and commercial law cooperation in Northeast Asia”. Zhang Yuejiao, former chairperson of the WTO appellate body, delivered a speech on "regional cooperation and dispute resolution". Ten legal and investment experts from China, Russia, Japan, South Korea and Mongolia had heated debate at the symposium. More than 200 delegates from business, academic and legal communities and trade promotion systems from Northeast Asian countries attended the symposium.

After joint discussion, Changchun Proposal of the 2nd China-Northeast Asia Commercial Law Cooperation Symposium was released, proposing to set up a permanent forum and secretariat on Northeast Asia international commercial law to provide sustainable and high-quality commercial law services for business cooperation in Northeast Asia.

Meanwhile, the B&R Legal Research Books were also released during the symposium. So far, CCPIT Department of Legal Affairs has published 45 legal research books covering Russia, India, Hungary, Pakistan, Israel, Kazakhstan and other 39 B&R countries.
