A meeting of Chinese Organizing Committee of 16th China-ASEAN Expo & China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit was held in Beijing on July 12. Wang Shouwen, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative of International Trade Negotiations, Gao Yan, Chairperson of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and Chen Wu, Chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, attended and addressed the meeting.
Gao Yan said, over the past 15 years since the establishment of the strategic partnership between China and ASEAN, the bilateral relations have moved from the growth stage of rapid development to the mature stage of quality improvement and upgrading, and now usher in a new stage of all-round development.
“In recent years, China has stepped up its opening-up efforts and introduced new measures, which have brought more development opportunities to the business communities of China and ASEAN and required more for the preparation of the summit,” added Gao.
Gao said that CCPIT will focus on the following three tasks. First, deepen practical cooperation, promote the Belt and Road construction with high quality, address the specific concern of the business communities of China and ASEAN in participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, and optimize the agenda and format of the summit; Second, operate well the current events, innovate the summit pattern, and keep the vigor of the summit; Last but not least, prepare well for the summit in all stages.
