CCPIT Vice Chairman Lu Pengqi met with Cargill Global Vice President

Lu Pengqi, Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), met with Marcel Smits, Global Vice President of Cargill, in Beijing on July 3. The two sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation under the multilateral trading mechanism.

Lu Pengqi introduced the active and important role of CCPIT and China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), the largest trade and investment promotion agency in China, in comprehensively deepening reform and expanding opening-up, and acknowledged Cargill's attitude of actively supporting and upholding the multilateral trading system and promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation as a global multinational enterprise.

“I hope Cargill and other renowned U.S. companies can spread their stories of successful development in China and work together for the sound development of multilateral trade and investment,” added Lu.

Marcel Smits introduced Cargill’s business status in China and worldwide and said Cargill is willing to foster cooperation with CCPIT, actively participate in multilateral economic and trade activities, and enhance exchanges with China’s relevant industries and local enterprises to contribute to the liberalization and facilitation of global trade and investment.
